NSA Reporting

Since June 2013, Laura Poitras has reported extensively on the NSA and Edward Snowden's disclosures. She has published articles that revealed the PRISM program, NSA spying on Angela Merkel’s cell phone and UN offices, Microsoft’s close relationship with the NSA, GCHQ’s hacking of Belgacom, NSA’s monitoring of global financial transactions and smartphones, NSA mapping of social networks of U.S. citizens, NSA sharing raw data on U.S. citizens with Israel, and NSA’s efforts to secretly expand its legal authority. She filmed the widely broadcast Edward Snowden interview in Kong Kong.

Her work has been published in The Guardian, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Der Spiegel, Channel 4, and The Intercept.  Her NSA reporting contributed to a 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service awarded to the Guardian and Washington Post
